Gaddafi says leaving his compound was a tactical move.
Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has addressed the nation via Libyan radio, declaring that “in the fight against aggressors there is only death or victory.”
He said that the Bab Al-Aziziya compound no longer exists. It was totally destroyed by 64 NATO air strikes.
As of now, the leader and his family are nowhere to be found.
Gaddafi spokesperson, Moussa Ibrahim, speaking on Libyan television from an undisclosed location, warned the battle for Libya will turn the country into a volcano, lava and fire. He stressed that the country’s government can resist the attacks for months or even years.
“Libya will become a volcano,” he promised. He condemned the rebels and claimed that 12,000 tribesmen were converging on Tripoli to fight.
Dubai-based al-Arabiya TV says that the capital is being pounded by Gaddafi forces’ Grad missiles and mortars. {Syrian's comment: Note, they will use this excuse to blame all of the damage on Ghaddafi.} Reuters also reports pro-Gaddafi forces attacking the town of Ajelat, west of Tripoli, with missiles and tanks. {Syrian's comment: Also nonsensical, the only people attacking with heavy weapons are NATO and their rebels.}
Meanwhile the National Transitional Council reports that 400 people have been killed and more than 2,000 injured over the last three days of fighting. Alternative reports claim that more than 1,000 people have died in the violence and NATO air strikes.
Don DeBar, an anti-war activist and journalist, believes that whatever Colonel Gaddafi or the rebel leaders say, it is practically impossible to verify what is true or false at this point.
“But certainly what has been coming from the Western media has been proven to be lies,” he declared. “Gaddafi opened up the armories to the people of Libya, more than a million rifles and other arms have been handed out to the people of Tripoli. The claim that has been made by the so-called ‘progressive’ media of the United States is that Gaddafi is a hated dictator and that this is an indigenous rebellion. The dictator does not hand people guns and say: ‘Please, defend me!’”

From PRAVDA:
The last two days have once again proved the obvious fact that there are no independent media and that Western news agencies, newspapers and magazines work out a political order. The lion's share of newspapers, magazines and news agencies reported the unprecedented success of the insurgents and predicted the imminent fall of Tripoli.
However, as reported to Pravda.Ru by Libyan Armed Forces captain Hasan D., "Tripoli is still in our hands. When early reports of the assault and landing of the enemy emerged, our leader Muammar Gaddafi arrived wearing his military uniform, and his appearance caused unprecedented enthusiasm among the soldiers and the people. He ordered us to beat the rats and their Western backers. By the morning we partially drove them out of the city, partially destroyed, despite the fact that NATO aircraft are almost constantly hanging in the air, bombing residential neighborhoods. Hospitals are overwhelmed with the wounded. The West is committing a heinous crime, murdering women and children. According to the information received, approximately two thousand civilians were killed. We were able to shot down a helicopter that crashed off the coast. Now the military and militias are killing off the "rats" and foreign fighters on the outskirts of Tripoli.
So what has happened? Some of the foreign newsmen were quick to announce that Gaddafi's security lay down their arms, the rebels already control 80-90 percent of the city and that they are about to take the bunker where the Colonel is hiding, and that the rebels took Breguet.
They also spread information that people took to the streets of the capital to celebrate the overthrow of the Libyan colonel. As early as in the morning of August 22 the media began reporting on the detention of Gaddafi's three sons (including Mohammad and Seyifa), as well as the death of Khamis, a commander of the elite brigade. However, none of these prisoners were shown to the public.
Then, the Internet showed the shots of the killed Jamahiriya leaders: Colonel himself, his close associates and relatives, including General Abdullah al-Senussi and Dr Aisha al-Qadhafi. However, very quickly it became clear that this is a lie and there images were fabricated using Photoshop.
For example, the image of the "corpse" of Gaddafi was based on a snapshot of the murdered Secretary of bin Laden, and the "remains" of Aisha materialized on the basis of the photographs of Benazir Bhutto deceased in the terrorist attack.
By the evening it became clear that the insurgents and foreign promoters were running into difficulties. First, the success of Gaddafi opponents stopped at seizing 80-90 percent of Tripoli, and channels like "Al-Jazeera" were broadcasting information about "fierce resistance" of the Colonel's security that "miraculously" revived.
Later sources have sadly reported that Mohammed fled. Following this, Seyif surrounded by his soldiers appeared in front of the audience and angrily denounced NATO and the rebels, calling on the Libyan people "to destroy the rats." Then Khamis appeared, whose arrival decisively changed the situation with the defense of the city.
Contradictory information came from Breguet. Western propagandists have reported that Mutassima group came from there to help Gaddafi that the city has surrendered. This information was immediately followed by the reports that, in fact, negated the former. According to the number of media outlets, the battle of Breguet went on. The latter seems to be true, because even if they wanted to, they would not be able to overcome a thousand miles to Tripoli with the opposition of NATO hanging in the air.
By the morning of August 23, even the Western media began to report that the progress of the rebels has stalled. This was accompanied by the speech of Muammar Gaddafi son's Seyifa, in which he urged journalists to visit all areas of Tripoli and see that everything is quiet in the capital and that the "rats are beaten", as people continue to hunt down those who escaped during the assault.
But what about the television broadcast of "the popular rejoicing" in the streets of Tripoli? Western journalists are encouraged to broadcast "from the field" showing how people who got rid of the tyrant are rejoicing and sending text messages and videos on the Internet. This could not but confuse some knowledgeable people. First, the Internet access has been an issue in Tripoli since February. Second, the coverage of the "places of events" was filmed against a background filled with electric light areas, while due to damage by bombing power supply in most areas of Tripoli was lacking.
Later, some bloggers have compared the photo from the "places of events" with the photographs of the town and found a strange discrepancy with the well-known paintings of the urban landscape. The urban landscapes are missing very important details such as lanterns light, bas-reliefs on the buildings, trees, etc.
A week ago, Qatari authorities were preparing decorations strikingly similar to the scenes of Tripoli. The meaning of these preparations remained unclear, although it was mentioned that it was necessary to train those who will storm the Libyan capital. With a high probability we can assume that the scene "of capturing the dictator's lair" was filmed in the Qatari "theater."
The question arises: why do we need this circus? First, in order to break the faithful and inspire the troops of the rebels. Second, the scenes with the "democrats" who rushed into the Libyan capital were to be a signal of NATO to help them disembark the marines.
In any case, the incident cast another shadow on the foreign journalism. Can one trust such media? In the West journalism has long been considered "the second oldest" profession. But is this comparison true? At the very least, a client that communicates with representatives of the first oldest profession can at least hope for some fun.

Battle of Tripoli: Separating Fantasy from Facts
What is going on in Tripoli seems to depend on who you talk to and the more you try to discover that is happening, the more it appears that there are two Tripolis - the one in Libya and another one stashed away somewhere in cyber space, on a pink cloud bathed by television blackouts, NATO cyber terrorist activities and clear breaches on the UNSC Resolutions.
1. NATO violation of international law
I have received numerous reports - being checked - of NATO special forces on the ground in Tripoli trying to aid the terrorist forces they control. This is a clear violation on UNSC Resolutions 1970 and 1973 (2011) and occasions a breach of international law in this case allegedly by France and the UK.
What are these forces doing becoming involved in an internal conflict? What is Cameron doing supporting armed Islamist terrorists, who perpetrated the most horrific outrages upon entering Tripoli, far worse than the thugs at home in the UK? So at home he condemns these acts of violence while he supports Al-Qaeda elements abroad? David Cameron spends 32 million pounds a week supporting people who kidnap and rape women, rape girls, impale small boys with stakes and carry out massive looting?
Comment: If there are no NATO boots on the ground, then suppose if one were caught and beheaded? Surely then there could be no condemnation because if there are no boots on the ground, then he does not exist. You cannot behead a ghost. Would Cameron complain if someone did to his family what his forces did to Colonel Gaddafi's grandchildren? Would Cameron come forward and admit what the Bullingdon Club did and his membership of it? The same or worse than the rioters he condemned? And did the MPs in the UK not acquire the same plasma TV screens using the taxpayers' money, while he condemned a few kids for looting? What right has someone like this to opine on anything, especially embroil his country in a tribal war of the most horrific proportions, which is what he seems to have unleashed in Libya?
2. Khamis the ghost, Saif the prisoner
So much for the credibility of the western media, to which David Cameron answered when he was reported speaking on the arrest of three of Colonel Gaddafi's sons. One thing is to jump to conclusions and copy and paste what is on Twitter, or on other websites, which it seems is what the western media is doing.
I have removed SKY, BBC, Al-Jazeera and CNN from my cable TV package here in Bucharest. I shall never, ever watch them again. For those of us outside Libya is it impossible to sit here and write with certainty what is the truth. What I can say is that I have sources inside Libya that say they are in Green Square right now, that say they are in Bab Azizia right now, and that the flags there are Green and not the terrorist flags. The terrorists number only a few thousand, apparently and are being split from their NATO masters.
Whether or not this is the case, time will tell. Yet for now it does present itself as a plausible alternative source of news.
And what was this about Saif al-Islam al-Qathafi being held prisoner then turning up smiling? And what about the murder of Khamis, twice? And here he is in Tripoli? So if the sources I am using here are credible or not, how credible are the lies by SKY and friends?
3. Did NATO send the terrorists to their deaths?
There are reports that huge numbers of terrorists were cleansed from the streets of Tripoli after storming into the city. Quite how far they got is open to argument. The conflicting stories give some credence to the theory that NATO hacked into the Libyan TV and communications channels on Sunday night, showed the images of marauding gangs of terrorists cheering while the real ones ran amok in some suburbs only, creating a generalised impression that Tripoli had fallen.
4. Today's prisoners of war taken by the Libyan Armed Forces
750 Benghazi terrorists , 3 Qatari, 10 French, 1 English, 14 Emirates, 2 Algerian, 45 Egyptian, 5 Greek, 2 Italian.
This data is being checked. The foreigners from NATO countries would be further proof of breach of the UNSC resolutions covering this conflict. Of course if they do not exist then what happens to them cannot be condemned. How many families in F-UK-US (France, UK, USA) have been informed that their loved ones are missing in action?
5. Exact battle information
I am not going to divulge the exact battle information I have received because it may be inaccurate and may occasion the death of people. What I can say is that the systematic attempts to blackout news from inside Libya by taking out the TV are giving rise to numerous stories, some of which if believable would mean that this is far from over.
6. A sense of humanity
It is quite evident that NATO made a huge mistake in inventing lies and supporting terrorist elements, misguiding who otherwise would have been young men with a future and sending tens of thousands of them to their deaths fighting against the Libyan authorities which from day 1 have been protecting civilians against this scourge, a lot of it from foreign countries.
It is clear that NATO broke every rule in the book once again and proved itself to be a criminal organization pandering to the needs of the lobbies it serves. We see its politicians are no more than a sham, and western democracy is a fraud.
It is also clear that the people of the world hate NATO with a seething loathing. As we have all taken sides in this, many of us supporting Muammar al-Qathafi against a bunch of murderers who never once mentioned his humanitarian projects (because they want to stop them and steal African's resources), we should also remember our humanity.
We must not gloat over the deaths of human beings, we must not wish for the wholesale slaughter of the terrorists but appeal instead for humanity from both sides. We should once again use all our powers to bring the international community to allow the Libyan Government to broker a ceasefire and hold talks, something it has been trying to do from the beginning, and hold elections as it promised from the beginning.
It was NATO that refused. Now THAT may go a long way to describing the events of the last few days. Time will tell. All we can do from outside is to make a responsible attempt to find news from the front lines and report it. There are two sides to this story. How far the truth tends to lie on either side of the line I have no way of telling, but I do refuse to sit here copying and pasting from sources which just reiterate the nonsense peddled by the other channels. Things can change within hours but at this moment I believe what I have here to be true.
What I can do is to condemn those who threatened the independent journalist Lizzie Phelan. I will find out who you are and I will name you and shame you in public. You do NOT threaten innocent girls trying to make a career. Threaten me, and see what happens.

"Russia wants Gaddafi to step down, ceasefire and negotiations between Libyan political forces – Medvedev
Russia would like to see Gaddafi step down, a ceasefire in Libya and negotiations between political forces in the country, Itar-Tass news agency quotes Russian President Dmitry Medvedev as saying on Wednesday. He also said that is if the rebels are strong enough to unite Libya, then Russia will be ready to consider establishing relations with them. However, Medvedev noted that Colonel Gaddafi still retains some military potential and influence."

is confirmation in my mind that they were more than complicit in the 9/11 atrocity and the propaganda they spread before and after that heinous event. I wonder how far down the media food chain these terrorists can be found? Judging by the falsities presented by their reptilian creatures on the ground in Libya that would be all the way including people on camera and sound. We live in grotesque times. The planet needs a great cleansing.

the last thread. I didn't quite understand the reference to the FIDE president, but I'm not asking you to be more explicit about it. No doubt I'll understand what you were getting at when the time is ripe.
Now about the bloggers here who seem to claim we are as brainwashed as the rest of the public, we can say that Iraqwar-ru also just gave us a fairytale verson of events in Iraq in the early days of the war. And, yet, I don't think it did. What did happen though was the situation suddenly changed with frightening rapidity.
Something similiar in Libya? Maybe and maybe not. Has anyone listened to our indomitable Spaniard Leonor and Morris Herman on their latest video? Like Leonor, I, too, believe Libya will win. Bomb Tripoli to kingdom come, Libya will still win. The only open questions are: When and how? Time will answer those. As for Russia, may it be damned - no, let's be more precise: it will be damned if it joins up with its own enemies against a country which never did it any harm simply to curry favour with the west. Such an attitude is unworthy of Russia and the Russians and the price to pay for it will be very high, indeed. Syria, you ask: what will come after the Great Cleansing? I'll tell you one thing: it will be moral and just or it will not be. The planet will have ceased to exist.

I hope even more now for victory to the Libyan resistance (let us not call them pro or anti Ghaddafi any longer. This war is now bigger than Ghaddafi, he's a symbol nonetheless) I hope this great man returns to claim his sweet sweet victory.

There is no new news for Wednesday, just Tuesday's tired, recycled unknown footage and meaningless garbage rebel takeover of a bombed out compound.
The only signs of celebration that we see are coming from Benghazi which is where you would expect such a staged event. I did notice that a 'black face' is now apparent in the footage as someone pointed that discrepancy earlier on here.
I guess this is now being compared to the other staged event in Baghdad when a statue of Saddam was pulled down. The significance of expending resources to take over an obviously abandoned and bombed out compound is not clear to viewers.
Lots and lots of dumb Hollywood theatrics that are totally meaningless to intelligent people.
The mood is somber at the US jew-controlled networks CNN and Fox New as the euphoria over the 'fall of Tripoli' has now waned and the hoax has been exposed. The wall-to-wall coverage and jubilant newsreaders are gone, replaced with other horror scenes of earthquakes and hurricanes.
Sara Sidner is lucky that a mortar round didn't land on her head for bringing Americans the lies and propaganda with her one-sided account from the rebels. She can't seem to find any Gadhafi loyalists to balance out her useless reporting. She is now an 'eyewitness to history' as she saw the rebels take the compound.
It is not clear if she was carried in on the back of one of the rebels. It is so dangerous in Tripoli that she wears a combat hat and bullet proof jacket, yet she is seen posing with a young wearing nothing but a t-shirt and waving a flag. If a young girl can be out in the ruble smiling and flag waving, how dangerous can it really be for bystanders?
It shows how far CNN will go to bring Americans useless staged propaganda.
The pre-programmed non-sense is now evident. By the today, the shift was to talk about the 'new Libya' and what is next for exploiting the country by Western companies and the usual guests had been lined up. Since there is no victory, all there is is hot-air and speculation.
There was one admiral (he had worked on rebuilding Iraq that is still in shambles. The same disasters from Iraq are being recycled for Libya) on CNN who beautifully side-stepped a dumb question from the newsreader, Kyra Phillips (dumber than a brick wall).
She asked him who he would rather work with to rebuild Libya, the rebels or the Gadafhi? He was smart enough to say neither as the stupid newsreader appeared perplexed that he didn't go along with her expected answer of the rebels. The admiral contradicted the pre-planned and rosy expected outcomes that Phillips were painting on CNN. It isn’t going to be easy to exploit Libya as their trial customers will prevent it.
The admiral had to give a brief history lesson to the moronic newsreader about the tribal traditions in Libya that will make any rebuilding without their support impossible. You get the impression from the admiral that the usual 'rent an Arab' mentality to exploit Libya won't work this time as the rebels don't have the popular support of the majority of the 2000 tribes there and are practically useless and won’t be able to govern without trial support. The stupid rebel ‘victory’ nonsense is meaningless.
In just that small exchange between the stupid newsreader and the admiral, you get the impression that NATO wasted it time and resources on yet another economically self-defeating war for oil.

his excellent account of the somber mood prevailing on Fox and CNN. He's a brave man. I shouldn't have had the courage to listen to either of the two channels.
We are worried over Libya, extremely so. But that does not mean that we have grown willing to believe whatever NATO chooses to serve us up with. Syrian is absolutely right: NATO does qualify as a paper tiger, if only we all managed to acknowledge this one obvious fact. Leonor is right: Libya will win. Do not let anyone tell you different.

While of course, we cannot confirm what he says, there's little we can say about the sewer stream simulations and fabrications. I watch CNN and Fox only for its entertainment value. I watch to see how far the jew-controlled media are brain-washing the dumbed down morons in America who are unable to think for themselves.
John Stewart, some jew comedian, is the leading news personality on TV. Apparently, Americans like their news delivered by a comedian, nothing serious just dumb jokes. It is rather sad that they are misinformed and brainwashed by the jewish media.
I get my cable for free so it is not like I am contributing anything of value to cable operators. CNN and Fox news are NOT getting any sub fees from me and I get all of their content.
I would never pay for zionist lies and propaganda. I notice at one place that I frequent, that the New York Times paper copy is given out free and nobody even bothers picking up a free copy. If it weren't for an idiot like Carlos Slim that irrelevant would have died its natural death much sooner.
The jew media because of its pro-jew, pro-israel and pro-war reporting are now irrelevant to most intelligent Americans as they have learned to look out for the bias and disregard the lies and propaganda that serve no useless American purpose.
I turn my TV OFF anytime a jew comes on to report anything.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans are dropping cable service or are nor paying their bills every quarter and the cable operators are trying to hide this by not disconnecting the cable from these people for fear that Wall Street will hammer their stock when they reveal the true number of disconnects and non-paying subscribers.

You did such a wonderful job explaining the symbolism here. I wish you would render an interpretation on "resurrection". The resurrection and reappearance of Saif ? From Achilles to Christ to Saif ... escaping death or capture captivates people because it momentarily alleviates our own fear of death. Doesn't matter who we're rooting for. Saif's resurrection is the propagandists worst nightmare come true.

If you take a look at the names the Americans have given to all their major military operations since the beginning of this year, at first, like many commentators in the media said, it seems like they don't make any sense at all: Operation Odyssey Dawn (the beginning of the US/NATO attack on Libya), Operation Neptune Spear (the so-called 'elimination of Osama Bin Laden) and now Operation Siren (the combined psy-op/special forces attack on Tripoli).
You often hear them say on tv "how does the US military come up with these names?"
Names like "Operation Iraqi Freedom" or "Desert Storm" make a lot more sense to them..
But if you know Homer's story "The Odyssey" you can easily connect the dots.
In the beginning of the story "The Odyssey", ancient Greek king Odysseus just returns from Troy, after waging a ten-year old unjust war there that had turned into a quagmire (hmm sound familiar? what war started in 2001?)
Later in the story Neptune strikes Odysseus ship with a trident (thats where they got the inspiration for the name "Operation Neptune Spear" from).
Even later in the story Odysseus is confronted with the Sirens..
Of course these Americans who came up with these names, obviously missed the main theme of the both "The Odyssey" and the preceding story "The Iliad".
Because the author of these two stories (Homer) made very clear that Odysseus and the other kings that fought against Troy had gone to war under a false pretense and only for selfish, greedy reasons, and therefore the gods of Olympus opposed all them and eventually punished all of them, including Odysseus.

The MSM haven't been reporting anything new the past three days. This was the same in Baghdad early april 2003, but the situation might just be a little more advantageous for the Libyans now.
If the reports about the Algerians coming to their aid is true then the rebels can all be easily defeated, although NATO will probably consider a much larger ground invasion then (instead of just the special forces they have on the ground there now).
But if that happens it will be the final nail in the coffin for NATO.

Very nice. I particularly like the "they don't get it" part. It's almost painful to experience such hollow stupidity.

Nor will they fight NATO. They just want to make sure the Benghazi scenario is not repeated in Algeria.
It works in Libya's advantage though.

That almost gives me shivers up my spine, especially the last part, which matches up with what's going to happen shortly.

I guess, they do so profoundly not get it that I don't get it either.
Are they actually admitting in a veiled manner that Osama is/was (still) their man (as you recount that Neptune's strident struck Odysseus' ship), and didn't you say Odysseus' men were the targets of the sirens?
In any case, the symbolism for those who can see the real character of contemporary events is all too savoury in its irony. Indeed, Richard.

Most of the tribesmen have left for Tripoli so they want to rape their women.

Thanks for that ! Very interesting. I've always wrongly assumed their operation names were pulled from their behinds, super hero comic books and sometimes literature. We can only hope they soon meet the end Homer predicted.

Isn't the interesting question whether Algeria will resist the temptation to enlarge itself over the Libyan distress?
One can only hope that the French have done a full job in implanting the terror of the west in the forefront of Algerian considerations.
